IMa Whippets came into being in 2002 when my foundation dam, Diva, whelped her first litter. IMa is a name invented with inspiration from kennels such as Justa IGs and Itza IGs. It does not hurt, metaphorically, that IMA is also an acronym for the Institute for Musical Arts whose subtitle happens to be "the dream unfolding." The abbreviation and the subtitle, I believe, are applicable to my own pursuits, and so I've appropriated the former with no guilt. You can check out www.ima.org, too, if you like.
